Welcome to Mindful Essence

Dedicated to empowering individuals to find inner peace and transformation through yoga

About Mindful Essence

Mindful Essence was created with intention of providing individuals in Doreen and surrounding areas a transformative experience through yoga. The aim is to provide a valuable and affordable opportunity for the local community to experience the profound physical, mental, and emotional benefits of dedicating time for yourself and making it to your yoga mat. Yoga offers numerous benefits for physical and mental well-being, including improved flexibility, strength, balance, stress reduction, and enhanced mindfulness, contributing to a healthier and more balanced lifestyle.

Yoga Improves:

If you’re new to yoga, or you’re returning to your mat after some time, remember yoga is a personal and non-judgmental journey. There’s no need to compare your body, your experience, or your progress with anyone else. While each class is guided with a collective intention, your reasons for practicing yoga are uniquely your own. Whether you’re seeking physical relief, emotional healing, or simply a way to connect with yourself, I’m here to support you every step of the way.

So come and try a class with me. Where we will breathe, move awaken and transform together. Come flow with me.

“Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.”

- B.K.S. Iyengar

Meet the Teacher

Namaste to all!

I’m Jess, a physiotherapist with advanced practice titling in the musculoskeletal stream as awarded by the Australian Physiotherapy Association. I have a special interest in supporting clients with persistent pain using mindfulness-based approaches, and my passion for helping people extends beyond physiotherapy into the world of yoga. I am a multi-style yoga teacher registered with yoga alliance (500-RTY) with 100 hours Yin Yoga Teacher training, and I am sharing my passion of yoga with the community by providing weekly and affordable classes.

My personal journey with yoga started at the age of 27 when I experienced a spinal injury requiring emergency surgery. I also had some personal challenges and stressful events happening in my life occurring around the same time. These life-changing experiences led me to explore yoga, and I quickly discovered its transformative effects on both my body and mind. This experience ignited my deep connection with yoga and set me on a path to explore its profound benefits. Through my own self-practice, I’ve gained invaluable skills in mental resilience, I have learnt to regulate my nervous system, and effectively manage and reduce stress in this busy world. Most importantly, I have learnt to cultivate a greater sense of gratitude, presence, and physical wellbeing despite our the events happening around us.

For me, yoga is more than just movement … it’s became a way of life. It’s a practice that supports my overall health and wellbeing, and I believe it can do the same for you.

“Yoga is not about touching your toes. It is what you learn on the way down.”
